Ascot Property Information

Ascot has been one of the most prestigious suburbs of Brisbane. It is located at about 7km north of Brisbane CBD and is bordered by two other ‘old money’ suburbs if Brisbane, Clayfield and Hamilton. It is also regarded as one of the exclusive residential suburbs in Brisbane with property values that are ranked consistently among the most expensive in the state.

The most prominent landmarks of Ascot are the two racecourses which occupy most of the area of the suburb. Ascot’s main business center is located at the Racecourse Road that runs from the Eagle Farm Racecourse going downwards to the river end of a nearby street in Hamilton.

Ascot is a home to several prestigious homes in Brisbane. There are grand Queenslander houses lined along the streets while modern homes are gradually taking over older homes that have lost luster over time. The good thing about the influx of new homes is that they haven’t replaced the general character of the area.

Since there are higher costs of acquiring land in Ascot, this also means that those who are building their new homes will likely spend on excellent quality of designs which will fit well with the surrounding Ascot properties. There has also been a price dip on several units since the ‘six pack’ styles of apartments dating back from the 70s to the 80s are still popular.

Right now, the most expensive Ascot property bought in the area costs around $7.2M. This is located in the Sutherland Avenue where the previous record holder of the most expensive Ascot property can also be found.

Entertainment Source

Racecourse Road, one of the most popular strips of cafés and restaurants can be found in Ascot. The street serves as a border between Hamilton and Ascot. The street was name after the Eagle Farm Racecourse which can be found at its northern end. Eagle Farm and Doomben Racecourses are the most famous entertainment attractions. Both are just a short distant for most Ascot property owners and residents.

The economic growth that was seen in the recent years is attributed to the re-development of Bretts Wharf commercial port equipment. This is located the southern end of Racecourse Road. The Ascot Railway Station, Chateau Nous as well as the Eagle Farm racecourse has been listed among the Queensland properties.
